Baby who went missing after mother ‘borrowed’ him to neighbour has been found

The nine-month-old baby, Gift Nojahi, that went missing for one week after his 25-year-old mother, Abongile Nojahi, “lent” him to her friend for unstated purposes, has been re-united with his mother today, Tuesday the 13th.
recalled that, on Saturday June 3, baby Gift was reported missing following the failure of his mother’s friend to return him home after the latter had gone to a shopping mall with him.
The incident happened in Mt Moriah in Phoenix, South Africa.
t was alleged that Abongile’s 17-year-old neighbour, Zanele Mchunu, was in the habit of coming around to “borrow” the baby for outing.
Nojahi said,
“I’m happy that my baby has been found; that’s what matters the most. I have no problem with what she did and I would definitely forgive her, since I do not even know the reason why she disappeared with the baby. The baby is back with me now,”
Police spokesperson, Captain Nqobile Gwala, said the baby was found alive on Sunday, June 11.

“The baby was first taken to a place of safety after he was found.
“The suspect was arrested and charged for kidnapping after she was traced to her hideout.”
“She appeared in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court on Monday and court appearance results are unknown at this stage,” Gwala said.
